PAPUADAILY –The police have not confirmed the arrest of the Chairman of the West Papua National Committee (KNPB) Silas Ki, who was the mastermind of the attack on the Kisor Posramil, Maybrat Regency, West Papua. The identity of the perpetrator is still being investigated. Previously, it was reported that the head of KNPB Kisor had been arrested.
The Head of the Preparatory Police for Maybrat, Kompol Bernadus Okoka, confirmed the arrest of the suspected posramil attacker in early September. According to him, a joint team from the TNI and Polri is still investigating his identity.
“Indeed, there are some who have been arrested but they are still being investigated, maybe the names are the same,” said Police Commissioner Bernadus in Maybrat Regency, West Papua, Sunday (12/9/2021). Quoted by iNews.id.
From the information gathered, Silas Ki was arrested along with another suspected perpetrator with the initials YY who is also a member of KNPB Kisor.
The arrest took place in a forest area near Kamundan Village, Maybrat Regency, early Sunday. However, there is no detailed information regarding the details of the arrest.
Previously, the TNI and Polri identified the head of the KNPB Kisor, Silas Ki, as the mastermind of the posramil attack that resulted in the death of four TNI soldiers.
The leader of this separatist organization is included in the 17 list of wanted people (DPO) set by the Indonesian National Police. The attack on the TNI post was also planned.***
