Meosmanggara Village, Raja Ampat, West Papua, develops species tourism
The Reef Check Indonesia Foundation encourages the people of Meosmanggara Village, Raja Ampat Regency to develop community-based species tourism or WSBM.
Head of Meosmanggara Village, Yambres Mambarasar in Waisai, Sunday, said the Reef Check Indonesia Foundation or YRCI first initiated a sustainable community-based species tourism program to encourage young people to be actively involved in the tourism sector.
With the program, he said, the younger generation of Meosmanggara Village can take the opportunity as local tour guides since 2020.
The program is expected to improve the economic welfare of the people who take advantage of the natural potential for tourism activities.
