PAPUADAILY – A number of public facilities, including health centers and elementary schools (SD) in Kiwirok District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua, were burned by armed criminal group (KKB) terrorists. It is suspected that the incident was masterminded by the KKB led by Lamek Tablo.
Dandim 1715 Yahukimo Lieutenant Colonel Inf Christian Irreuw said the KKB led by Lamek Tablo was also involved in a shootout with the security forces assigned to Kiwirok.
In the shootout incident, a soldier from Yonif 403/WP who is a member of the Border Security Task Force (Pamtas) was injured in the right arm due to being hit by a rebound or a bullet bounce. He said the victim was in stable condition.

The incident occurred in Kiwirok District, Bintang Mountains, on Monday morning (13/9/2021) at around 09.30 WIB.
The buildings that were burned included public health centers, bank cash offices, and elementary school buildings. In addition, a number of residents’ houses were burned.
Residents were temporarily secured at the TNI and Polri posts in Kiwirok. “I have asked all TNI personnel, especially those on duty at the RI-PNG border to increase their preparedness,” said Lt. Col. Inf. Irreuw.
A number of cases
Meanwhile, a number of incidents occurred in the Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua. Two people suspected of being members of the KKB were arrested in the Bintang Mountains Regency.
From their hands, 5 long-barreled firearms (senpi) were confiscated. The two people, named Yulian Uropmabin (36) and Kapol Uropmabin (42) were arrested in Oksibil District on Tuesday (7/9/2021).
They were arrested by Koramil 1715-05/Batom personnel and residents who are members of the Batom District Linmas. Danrem 172 PWY Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan said the two people who were arrested were the group led by Lamek Tablo.
“Their arrests were made on Tuesday (7/9/2021) in Oksibil District, after residents reported a boat carrying two people from Papua New Guinea (PNG) to Mongham, which is the base of KSB,” said Brigadier General Izak as reported by Antara, Wednesday (8/9/2021).
One day later, heavy equipment belonging to PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA) was burned, which was building the Trans Oksibil-Kiwirok Road.
It is suspected that the action taken by the KKB was related to the arrest of two KKB members carrying five firearms from PNG, Wednesday (2/9/2021) and currently the group is suspected of heading to Batom.
The Head of the Bintang Mountains Police, AKBP Cahyo Sukarnito, said the incident was discovered after an employee of PT WIKA reported it to the Bintang Mountains Police Headquarters in Oksibil.
Initially, the employees who lived in the Bolangkop camp wanted to go to the work location in Mangabib Village. Arriving at the location, they saw two excavator-type heavy equipment on fire.
They did not dare to work and returned to the camp, then reported it to the police.
