PAPUADAILY –TNI soldiers from the RI-PNG Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) Pos Kalipao Mechanized Infantry Yonif 512/QY distributed basic food assistance to residents’ homes to ease the burden on the community in Yuwainda Village, Yaffi District, Keerom Regency, Papua.
The Commander of the Task Force (Dansatgas) Mechanized Infantry Yonif 512/QY Lt. Col. Inf. Taufik Hidayat in a written statement received at Keerom, Tuesday said that social services in the series of TNI’s 76th Anniversary are routine activities that have become the commitment of the 512/QY Mechanized Yonif Task Force before carrying out security operations in the RI-Papua New Guinea border area.
“Sharing with residents in remote areas of Papua is an additional task carried out by the Battalion Yonif 512/QY Task Force. The supporting funds for the procurement of basic necessities are distributed to the community from the provision of sustenance obtained by the Task Force soldiers,” said Dansatgas. Quoted Antara.
The Dansatgas acknowledged that the geographical location of villages in the Papua region, especially Yuwainda Village, was on the border, located far apart and very remote.
“Residents in Yuwainda village really need basic food assistance to meet their daily needs. Yes, this is a form of concern for the TNI task force to help residents in border areas,” he said.
He hopes that the presence of the TNI in the border areas can be a driving force for the economy, education and help the people in the area, especially Yuwainda Village, so that its citizens become prosperous and strong.
“Harmonious and well-developed relations with the local community must be maintained by members of the 512/QY Postal Kalipao Mechanized Yonif Task Force personnel and can be continued by the next unit,” said Dansatgas.***
