The Head of the Regional Office for the Regional Logistics Agency for Papua and West Papua, Raden Guna Dharma, said that the availability of rice in the warehouses of the State Logistics Agency for Papua and West Papua is approximately 38,000 tons. The stock is sufficient until March 2022.
“Stock for the next four months is also to anticipate the availability of rice after the celebration of religious holidays,” said Guna Dharma, Monday (29/11/2021)
His party also estimates that the demand for government rice reserves (CBP) for market operations ahead of Christmas and New Year (Nataru 2021-2022) will decline by 5 percent.
“For the Jayapura area, the estimated demand is down 3-5 percent compared to the last two years. This can be seen from the reduced demand for CBP rice for market operations ahead of Nataru. It is also possible that the rice is provided by the private sector,” he said.
According to him, the highest demand for CBP for market operations occurred in the Wamena area, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua.
“Today we supply it to Wamena, tomorrow it will run out. Per day the plane transports 72 tons of rice to the area,” said Guna Dharma.
