According to him, have to be patient because in the disbursement process, everything must be administratively orderly.

This was said by Amali in the 9th Merdeka Barat Forum Discussion (FMB9) entitled “PON XX Papua, Build Nationalism and Togetherness”, was held virtually, Monday (13/9/2021).

Amali also emphasized that the additional funds were not included in the Kemenpora Budget Implementation List (DIPA). “This fund is an additional request from the Governor of Papua which was submitted to the President (Joko Widodo) and it has been approved. Actually, the funds already exist, it’s just a distribution mechanism,” Amali said. Quoted by ANTARA.

“Now it’s clear today, there are special rules issued to protect all parties. So, everything is safe. We don’t want there to be problems related to these funds in the future,” he added.

The request for an additional Rp1.4 trillion budget was at the request of PB PON. It is planned that the additional funds will be allocated for contingent accommodation, transportation, consumption and other additional activities.

Although the additional funds have not been disbursed, the Menpora ensured that the PON Grand Committee (PB) will continue to carry out preparations for the success of the four-year sports event.

“On the basis of this caution, hopefully this week everything will be smooth. But friends there have anticipated to make preparations and do not make this an obstacle,” said Amali.

He also said previously, the budget for Papua PON allocated through the Ministry of Youth and Sports, including for the procurement of equipment, organizing events and others had already been running.

In fact, some of the equipment has arrived in Papua and some have been handed over.

“We also make sure that before the activity starts, everything is ready, and that’s really what is included in the DIPA of the Ministry of Youth and Sports,” said Amali.

Meanwhile, the General Chair of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Center Marciano Norman said that the additional funds that had not been disbursed would not be an obstacle for PB PON to continue to prepare.

“Today, there is technical guidance for each sport and a test event for softball and baseball in Jayapura. All activities continue while waiting for the additional budget,” said Marciano.

Marciano also admitted that he was optimistic that all the obstacles faced in the preparation of the Papua PON would be resolved.

“With so much attention from all parties, we are sure that everything can go well,” he concluded. ***
