Addressing the Needs of Covid-19 Patients, Jayapura Hospital Plans Oxygen Production

PAPUADAILY –The spike in Covid-19 cases has increased the demand for oxygen. Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Dok II Jayapura plans to produce medical oxygen independently.

According to the Director of the Jayapura Hospital, dr. Aloysius Giyai in Jayapura, Wednesday (21/7/2021) this will be realized in August 2021.

“So in the first week of August we will install the equipment and in the second week start producing our own medical oxygen,” he said.

Aloysius targets this independent production per day to reach 300 medical oxygen cylinders. “Every day to serve COVID-19 patients and also general patients, approximately 200 oxygen cylinders are needed, while the available ones are very limited,” he said.

This condition has been reported to the Governor of Papua which is then followed up with the relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations to deal with emergency matters.

He added, as one of the referral hospitals for COVID-19 patients, his party will do its best to provide the best service. ***
